TESTIMONIALS
After a fall when I was 4 years old my coccyx was totally stuck, I forgot all about it but when I started doing CranioSacral some 30 years ago, the memories and discomfort started coming back. I tried all kinds of therapies but Lauren's technique put my coccyx where it was supposed to be. My body took a week to adjust. I couldn't sit straight, had problems with peeing too much, but then the pain in my left shoulder disappeared, my back straightened out and it all just feels perfect now...as if it never ever happened. Thank you Lauren!

Lauren Rose is such an asset to our community. I have referred many patients to Lauren in order to avoid surgical intervention. Lauren has specific skills in dealing with stress urinary incontinence, dyspareunia, pelvic pain, as well as many other issues. Lauren has a very calm and reassuring manner with her clients which is such an important part of therapy. I have personally seen Lauren for multiple issues over the course of several years. After having children, she helped me with significant hip pain. Before and after shoulder surgery, she helped me to improve the significant pain that I was in prior to surgery and helped me recover full after the surgery. I now see Lauren on a regular basis for maintenance therapy. Lauren has such a wealth of knowledge in different techniques and options and is always advancing her expertise with ongoing training.

After surgery requiring general anesthesia, I developed a painful fullness in my abdomen. My doctor diagnosed reflux with possible hiatal hernia and prescribed medication and referral for a procedure. Thankfully, I had a PT appointment with Lauren that afternoon and with visceral manipulation, it completely resolved!

Some people work towards expertise and become proficient in the area of their chosen career. Lauren was born with a gift of extraordinary intuition and sensitivity. She rises to effortless mastery with love and compassion in her heart. One gets well simply by being in her presence.

Lauren has helped me heal a thirty-year old shoulder-neck injury that I thought would never go away. She has a breadth of knowledge of how the Human body works that ranges from the broad overview to the tiniest detail. I recommend my patients to her especially for structural relief of pain. She is a dedicated, intelligent, kind practitioner whose work is highly successful.
Mary Jo McIlhon, D.O.M.
Lauren Rose is more knowledgeable about neuromuscular physiology than anyone I have ever worked with. Not only has she helped me alleviate the pain associated with occupational repetitive motion damage, she successfully treats my patients with TMJ disorders and post traumatic jaw injuries. As a community we are very lucky to have such an educated and dedicated healer.

After a dramatic skiing accident, I came to Lauren. She recognized what the surgeon had not: that my pain wasn't simply caused by soft tissue damage. She advised me to get an MRI. The result was shocking: not only were my ligaments and tendons shredded, but I also had a tiny pocket of dead bone in the ball of my femur. Thanks to Lauren, I discovered this quickly enough to qualify for a free vascularized fibular graft that saved me from a hip replacement. Lauren's care after my surgery speeded my healing. I looked forward to every visit, because from the moment you step into Lauren's wonderfully-inviting, warm space, you enter a world of healing and care.

Lauren has been treating me and my family during the last year. She cured my wife of back pain that she had for years that no one else had been able to help with. For me in one session gave me great relief for TMJ pain which I had for months. Our 9 year old son has been suffering from night time bed wetting. We had tried a number of approaches that didn't work. One session with Lauren and he has not wet his bed since. Thank you, thank you, thank you Lauren. Your combination of science, intuition and caring warmth is unique and effective.

Lauren is an amazing healer who has supported my health for years. Recently, I had a health crisis: my left arm swelled suddenly and continued swelling. I went to the ER, where they thought it was a blood clot: an ultrasound ruled it out. I saw my own doctor and an orthopedic specialist who ordered an xray and an MRI, which revealed nothing. I was sent to the hospital’s physical therapist, who hurt me and made it worse. When the swelling stopped, my arm was at a 45 degree angle and I couldn’t straighten it at all. Lauren suggested lymph drainage, which brought the swelling down and she treated me three times, focusing on the nerves. By the third visit, my arm was back to normal. Lauren solved a baffling and frightening health crisis, when the medical establishment was clueless.

I had surgery in December 2011. Five months after my surgery, I felt worse than before. My pain was affecting all areas of my life. As a last resort, my doctor recommended Lauren Rose for Physical Therapy. I could not imagine that PT could be so successful. After three appointments, I had dramatic pain reduction. Lauren truly has healing hands! I continue to work with Lauren to strengthen, relax and heal through exercise. Lauren is so patient, knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to help those who are hurting and need help. My life would be very different had i not had the chance to work with Lauren.

After over a year of other Physical Therapy and still in deep pain from pelvic and head injuries, I was referred to Lauren Rose. She found 3 pinched nerves and other injuries the others had missed and began healing me. I also learned from her and her Associate, Megan Sterling, how to listen to my body and follow where it led me. They are both extraordinary Physical Therapists and Healers. And I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Lauren Rose is an exceptionally skilled, compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective physical therapist. I can only rave about the improvements she has helped facilitate in my health.

It can be intimidating and embarrassing to ask for help with pelvic floor "issues". Lauren is approachable, knowledgeable and nonjudgmental. It is such a blessing to be supported in healing by her intuitive and experienced hands. Things are so much improved after only 2 sessions - thank you!

Lauren Rose has been helping me deal with a series of complicated medical issues for the past several months. She has shown a remarkable knowledge base of both anatomy and medical treatments using both Western and alternative methods. I am very pleased with all aspects of her work, self, spirit and gift.

When I first started therapy, I was having urinary incontinence every time I ran, and having urgency/frequency throughout the day. This was really depressing, as I am usually a very active and happy person, and a mother of two young children. I have to be able to chase after them! After about 6 weeks of therapy, biofeedback training, manual therapy and doing exercises at home, I was able to run just under 5 miles without leakage! This was wonderful and gave me hope that my issues with pelvic floor muscles and bladder might be getting better. I have been able to resume many activities and I continue to get stronger. I would highly recommend that anyone suffering from bladder leakage or other issues seek out help. It certainly has improved my enjoyment of life and given me back my sunny outlook.

I wrote this testimonial to share my experience with Lauren over the last 2 years, in particular working with me to manage a 10+ year history of severe Interstitial Cystitis (IC) and Chronic Pelvic Pain Disorder (CPPD). Lauren has given me back my life and lifestyle, placed me back in the world of normally functioning people and allowed me to be the most optimistic I have been in over a decade. I say this with humility as well. Lauren is a very spiritual person, while I am a former engineer and scientist and agnostic at best. She has shown me that there are many things that have real effects in our lives that we cannot explain scientifically, at least not within a Western Medical model. I am living proof that neither understanding the mechanics of something, nor belief in untestable processes are required for a practitioner to aid someone.
If you take the time to read my history below, you will see that no simple placebo effect will account for the complete turnaround in my physical health afforded me through Lauren’s visceral physical therapy techniques. I am a 60 year old male. In mid-1999, I was (mis)diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH). I underwent a Trans Urethral Incision of the Prostate (TUIP), in an effort to reduce my prostate and end/relieve my symptoms. In early 2000, due to the failure of the TUIP procedure to better my symptoms, I underwent a Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostate. Again, in the hopes that my further reduced prostate would change my symptom profile.
In mid-2000, with no improvement in symptoms, I was diagnosed with IC and CPPD. My Urologists, both with Scripts Hospital in California, were top notch, with one having been the developer of Elmiron, the single most prescribed medication for IC. So my care givers were certainly not an issue.
So, by 2010, my symptom and medication profile was:
Pain: Constant level 5 lancerating pain, with regular flairs to 6/7 (using the Comparative Pain Scale 0-10)
Urination: 15-18 or more times per day
Medications: Catheter instillations multiple times weekly with Lidocaine, Elmiron, Sodium Bicarbonate and eventually Herparin and Gentamicin. Proscar and Urocit and Pyridium failed to help. Flomax and derivatives offered minimal urinary flow relief. Regular courses of Prednisone and antibiotics, often more than 1 antibiotic concurrently. Vicodin, Trazadone and Alprazolam were finally prescribed because I had to become a patient of a pain specialist, since so many things had failed and my pain/depression cycle was so persistent.
Clearly I was in bad shape and psychologically very depressed. I had no avenue for anti-depressants because nearly all I tried and I tried them ALL, gave me side effects to my IC and CPPD that were worse than being depressed. I have always been very active in my own treatment and searched and read every forum, book and article on my disease that I could find. It was this research that finally led me to the area of visceral physical therapy for IC/CPPD. I was extremely fortunate to find Lauren, not only in New Mexico, but only about 2 miles from my house in the same community. There are only a handful of practitioners for her therapy in the entire United States.
So, what has Lauren done for me? In the last 2 years of working on my IC/CPPD, I now have so vastly improved that my symptom and medication profile is:
Pain: Most days, 2 max with many hours without any
Urination: Well within normal range of <= 10 times a day. Many days <6 and most telling I have gone from 5-6 times nightly to 1-2.
Medication: I only use a catheter instillation 2-3 days every 2 weeks. I only use Flomax.
If you suffer from IC and/or CPPD, you will find no one to better afford you the potential for regained health than Lauren.
